Peanut butter and chocolate has to be one of the best combos of all time. We love making Homemade No Bake Reese's or Triple Peanut Bar Cookies but there is something so special about a peanut butter pie. And this peanut butter pie is a total show stopper!

This pie is definitely rich so a little bit really will go a long way.  My kiddos both left a few bites of their slices left which was pretty shocking.

Normally they can polish that stuff off fast so trust me when I say it's super rich!  Usually I plan for pies to serve 8 but this pie can serve 12 easily because of that.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:

  • Oreo's
  • Creamy peanut butter
  • Butter
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Whipped Cream or Cool Whip
  • Whipping Cream
  • Chocolate chips
  • Reese's candy

Whipped cream can be used instead of using Cool whip in the peanut butter filling but heavy whipping cream is not replaceable for the chocolate ganache on top.

You can also use a premade Oreo crust from the grocery store instead of making your own.  A food processor, if you have one, makes it very simple to make an Oreo crust.  You can also crush the Oreo's by hand using a Ziploc bag to contain the crumbs and a rolling pin.

HOW TO MAKE NO BAKE PEANUT BUTTER PIE:

  1. Use a food processor and process the Oreo cookies until they are crumbs. Add melted butter and process again so the butter is all incorporated. Press crumbs into a pie pan.
  2. In a stand mixer or using a hand mixer, beat the peanut butter, butter and powdered sugar together until well combined.
  3. Add cool whip or whipped cream and beat again until fully combined. Pour into the prepared Oreo rust.
  4. Pour chocolate chips in a large heat proof bowl.
  5. Heat the 1/2 cup whipping cream in a sauce pan until it comes to a simmer
  6. Pour the whipping cream over the chocolate chips in the bowl and allow to sit for 4-5 minutes. Stir until the chocolate chips and whipping cream become one smooth mixture
  7. Pour over the pie and top with chopped Reese's. Refrigerate until ready to serve.close up of bite taken out of pie

TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • You can make the pie ahead and freeze it to eat later.  Cover the pie really well with plastic wrap.  To thaw, place in the fridge overnight still covered.
  • Although ganache is really simple to make, when the cream is too hot, the chocolate can split which is what makes it separate.  Thankfully, even if that happens you can still save it thanks to the tips on saving a grainy ganache here.
